Players,
Due to restrictions placed by the site manager(s) we are unable to support night play for this operation as originally intended. This decision was not made by the game planners, and we do not have the ability to influence it in any way. I understand this may upset some players, but until about a day ago we were still on track for night play, and we are letting you know as soon as possible.
If people arrive on time and ready to play, the operation planners will make every effort to start the game as early as feasible. If this happens, people arriving after game play begins, but in accordance with the original timeline, will be worked into game play as quickly as possible as they arrive.
The lack of night play will have no impact on the remainder of the game play. The site managers have some pretty cool toys which have not been seen during an Operation Phoenix event yet that they're itching to try out on you. American forces, this does not bode well for you - the site managers play for the "Red Forces" most of the time.
Since the question has been posed, we will not be issuing refunds for people who choose to drop out of this event due to the lack of night play. There is nothing keeping anyone from coming to the Operation, you would be choosing not to attend the event. The Operation is still on, and the decision to not allow night play is out of the hands of the planners. Additionally, this is a not-for-profit charity event. No one running or attending the game is making money off of it, and any "refund" would come straight out of the Wounded Warrior Project.
I would hope that most people who have registered would not request a refund even if the event had to be entirely cancelled, since at least in my mind the donation and the game play are separate issues. Again, there is no money being made off of this game by anyone, everything is supporting the Wounded Warrior Project.
