Umm...good question Cpt. , that I have not heard of yet. I would figure admin on 2-2 or something like that. and the blue-for and op-for to be either 3, 4, 5, 6 on standard gmrs, frs radios. but that would be nice to know as I need to get my icom reprogrammed. But from what I interpreted admins would be using frat radios?

We haven't worked out the freq spread yet. I am waiting for more people to flesh out teams before do it. I also know people need to get their radios programmed as well for this event. I will be 100% busy for something this weekend, and will not be available all weekend.

Admins will be using FRAT iComs, but the Admin channel for players to contact Admins is still 2-2.

After an event this past weekend, comms have proven to be very important, and also easy to overwhelm. A comms sheet will be worked up this week.

Ok would like to understand this a little better. I have a Motorola MR350 (35 mile range). It is a FRS/GMRS (family radio service/ general mobil radio service) radio. My manual says that all GMRS radio channels require a FCC license and that FRS can be used by anyone. For example on my 22 channel radio only channels 8-14 are FRS channels that can be used. All other channels require a FCC license to operate. Here is what the FCC says straight from their site----
Some manufacturers have received approval to market radios that are certified for use in both the Family Radio Service (FRS) and the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS). Other manufacturers have received approval of their radios under the GMRS rules, but market them as FRS/GMRS radios on the basis that: Some channels are authorized to both services, or A user of the radio may communicate with stations in the other service. Radios marketed as "FRS/GMRS" or "dual-service radios" are available from many manufacturers and many retail or discount stores. The manual that comes with the radio, or the label placed on it by the manufacturer, should indicate the service the unit is certified for. If you cannot determine what service the unit may be used in, contact the manufacturer. If you operate a radio that has been approved exclusively under the rules that apply to FRS, you are not required to have a license. FRS radios have a maximum power of ½ watt (500 milliwatt) effective radiated power and integral (non-detachable) antennas. If you operate a radio under the rules that apply to GMRS, you must have a GMRS license. GMRS radios generally transmit at higher power levels (1 to 5 watts is typical) and may have detachable antennas
Here is the link to that site--http://wireless.fcc.gov/services/index.htm?job=service_home&id=general_mobile
My question is all these airsoft games i have attended atleast locally dont seem to abide by this law and being on a military base is their going to be any issues with this? Can anyone explain?
